Hi! My name is Renee Chen — nice to meet you!
I'm a Chinese-American visual storyteller and creative at the intersection of film, photography, and marketing, passionate about bringing stories to life that uplift and connect, from behind the lens to behind the campaign.
Growing up immersed in international films and music, I've always been drawn to stories that transcend language and connect people through shared emotion. My background across dance, film, photography, and music has shaped a creative perspective rooted in authenticity, culture, and community—one that I bring into every role, whether in product marketing, digital marketing, or film and television. That curiosity led me to University of Southern California where I graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration and minors in Cinematic Arts and Music Industry. My experiences thus far have given me a strong understanding of both the creative and strategic sides of storytelling.
My experience spans music synchronization at NBCUniversal and Warner Music Group, social media strategy and campaign content at Baseline Co. and Peacock, and global product marketing at Aputure — where I supported cinema lighting launches across global markets, contributed to go-to-market strategy, and partnered cross-functionally with design, engineering, and regional teams.
Since my time at Aputure, I've been intentionally building on both the creative and marketing sides — developing short form cinematic content across dance, film, and travel videography, deepening my graphic design and Adobe skills, and building brand campaign concepts that bridge cultural moments with storytelling. I'm also a freelance filmmaker, photographer, and content creator, with credits across narrative shorts, music videos, editorials, and an associate producer credit on an award-winning AAPI short film recognized on the festival circuit.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me dancing, traveling, hiking, trying new sports, attending concerts and film festivals, or embarking on spontaneous adventures with friends. I'm always excited to collaborate, learn from others, and connect with people from all walks of life.
